Ocotal Beach is a great location. It is usually almost deserted but it is very close to great restaurants. It is the home to 6 sport fishing boats and 5 dive boats. You can walk from your beach villa to the dive shop and load on the dive boat or sport fishing boat without getting in a car. The people on the beach and at the resort are very friendly and will help find your best options. Swimming, snorkeling, soaking and scuba can all be done right from the beach. For more detailed information see the snorkeling, scuba and sport fishing pages. Water temperatures vary from 76 degrees to 82 degrees. There is almost no surf on the beach, so getting in and out of the water is easy. There are shade trees lining the beach and the restaurant, Father Rooster, offers tropical drinks as well as cold beer and an informal menu. Try their 1 pound hamburger but be prepared to share. |
